 The word projection has multiple definitions.  Google says one of the definitions is "...the presentation or promotion of someone or something in a particular way."  Kids have a better way of saying it when they tease each other with - "I know you are but what am I?" The Democrats are the Kings and Queens of political projection.  The best example of how the Democrat Party uses projection to deflect attention away from themselves is the latest charge that President Trump and MAGA supporters are authoritarians - a charge that is breathtaking for its audacity.  What makes it particularly scary is how the vast majority of the media parrots what the Democrats say verbatim. The Republicans are in big trouble in 2026.   The Election night just passed is a harbinger of the problems Republicans face.  Republicans got spanked royally.  The epitome of that was a Democrat candidate Attorney General who threatened death to not just a state legislator but also that legislators children won election against a Republican incumbent in Virginia. In New Jersey, electric bills are skyrocketing due to the policies of the outgoing Democrat Governor.  The Democrat candidate's solution - declare a state of emergency on day 1 in office and then.... who knows.  That was all her advertisements offered.  The Republican candidate had a specific list of solutions he proposed.  Result - Democrat wins by a significant margin In California, Proposition 50 was offered by Governor Newsom to redistrict the state so more seats would be Democrat.  When that was first announced, Prop 50 was way behind in the polls.  Voters had previously a...

Charlie Kirk believed in free speech and debate.  His process was peaceful.  Charlie Kirk went to colleges and other locations to listen to the views of others and offer his responses.   He would answer any question and talk to anyone.  Charlie Kirk was murdered because he offered ideas others did not want anyone to hear.  Progressives have tried for years to stop him going to College campuses.  Local branches of Mr. Kirk's Turning Point USA have had their tables and materials attacked and vandalized.   And now Charlie Kirk is assassinated - the culmination of all the efforts by progressives to deny him free speech, to prevent others from hearing what he has to say. President Obama called on Democrats to "toughen up" and said the next few years are "...going to require a little bit less navel-gazing and a little less whining and being in fetal positions."  President Obama also said "...now is exactly the time that you get in there and do something."* Putting it more bluntly, Mark Cuban criticized the Democrats as having no message other than "Trump sucks!"**   Mark Cuban then puts his finger on the right answer saying "...it's about the people of the United States of America - and what's good for them."  The world is aflame, with terror attacks against Israel in the Middle East.  Antisemitism is on the rise across the US and our troops are being attacked overseas by Iranian proxies.  The Biden Administration is still planning on giving the Iranian Government billions of dollars, which will allow them to continue to fund terror.  The US economy teeters day to day on the news and people a fleeing to gold to protect their money.  The US government is weeks away from shutting down when the Continuing Resolution expires.   And the US House of Representatives was paralyzed because a small group of conservative Republican members, in a snit, voted out the Speaker of the House. Is there anyone who doesn't think the Republicans will retake control of both the U.S. House and Senate this year?  Probably not - and that's the problem.    All the polls we see are generic.  They are asking questions about how people feel about the parties.  The pollsters are asking would a generic Republican defeat a generic Democrat.  Other polls are gauging people's feelings toward President Biden.  Every indication is the Republicans will win big in both Houses of Congress.  What could go wrong? Elections are not generic.  Incumbents are not easy to unseat.  Furthermore, elections involve Candidate A running against Candidate B in specific districts on specific issues.  Candidates and parties also need money to run campaigns. Republicans can be facing an uphill fight on some or all of these points. We won't put inflation behind us as long as Joe Biden is President and Democrats control one or both Houses of Congress.  There was going to be some level of inflation after the shutdowns of 2020, but the policies adopted by the Biden Administration and the spending bills passed by the Democrat Congress have elevated inflation to levels they have not been at in many years.  As long as Joe Biden is in the White House or Democrats control one House of Congress they will be able to prevent undoing the policies that have put us where we are. Starting on day one, the Biden Administration began adopting policies that fueled the growth of inflation.  Despite it being obvious for months that inflation was running hotter than expected the Biden Administration was in denial, saying inflation was transitory.   Supply chain issues were initially caused by other factors but the Biden Administration has talked about addressing this but none of their policies have been success...

Tuesday's election produced dramatic results.  As political experts around the country try to explain what just happened, here's my point of view.  The lessons to be learned by Democrats are different than the lessons that should be taken away by Republicans.  The stage is set for political upheaval at the Federal level in 2022 but how big that will be will be influenced by which party derives the right messages from the election that just occurred.  But to start, if you want a real understanding of what just happened, evaluating the Governor's race in Virginia is important but that is only the tip of the iceberg - you have to look deeper into the races at every level and across the country.  If Democrats focus solely on the Virginia Gubernatorial election and buy into the media claims that Glenn Youngkin's win is indicative of white racism, influence of President Trump, or inability to get President Biden's agenda passed*, they'll be crushed in the upcoming ele...

I think Amazon going to NY is a good thing for a couple of reasons.  It should be good for NY and it should be good for America if elected officials recognize just what happened here.  Ironically, Jeff Bezos may end up the loser here. Amazon going to NY city is good for the city because it creates jobs.  Before there are the jobs with Amazon, there will be construction jobs building the Amazon location.  Then you can bet there will be other growth around that area creating more construction work.  There will be jobs for people to clean and maintain Amazon's building and any new surrounding buildings.  There will need to be jobs for people filling the vending machines in the Amazon building.  When the Amazon employees get tired of eating out of the machines, they will need restaurants and delis and pizza places.  The jobs story doesn't stop there.  Amazon ships stuff - a lot of stuff.  That means trucks and cars and planes and train...

Some random thoughts This morning I saw, for the first time, the advertisement by former Mayor Michael Bloomberg complaining about violence and division in the Country and calling on all Americans to vote Democratic to bring back peace and bipartisanship. Charges that a vote to repeal Obamacare is a vote to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions are completely wrong.  This is the latest campaign tactic by Democrats.  Unfortunately Republican's don't understand health insurance law well enough to point out why the Democrats are completely wrong. Between 2011 and 2016, Republicans voted 40 times to repeal ObamaCare.  The House voted again to repeal the law but the Senate did not, leaving ObamaCare in place.  Democrats charge that Republicans will allow "big insurance to go back to denying coverage for pre-existing conditions." (1) That allegation ignores many facts but it's surprising Republicans have done such a poor job responding.  Why is it not true? a) in 2017, the Republican bill to repeal ObamaCare included pre-existing condition protections. b) even if Congress just repealed ObamaCare and did not pass any new law, federal law would revert to what existed before.  That includes a law passed i...

I don't know what happened 30 years ago when Professor Blasey Ford was assaulted by someone but I know she was violated in 2018.  She had her experience of 30 years ago dragged into the public.  She was made to go before a circus event in the Committee hearing, and she received all kinds of threats and hate mail that she didn't deserve.  And I know who the culprits were that caused this - the Democrats.  Here's who I blame: 1. I place the blame first with Senator Diane Feinstein.  Professor Ford sent a letter in confidence to Senator Feinstein.  Professor Ford did not want to come public, she did not want to endure what she endured.  Now the Senator from California denies being the leaker but she was the one to whom Professor Ford sent the letter and in whom Professor Ford placed her trust.  Senator Feinstein breached that trust by not ensuring the confidentiality of that letter. 2. The speech by US Representative Joseph Kennedy III was remarkably divisive and partisan.  Rep. Kennedy misrepresented the President's comments while excluding the interests of a number of groups.  The irony is the goal of his speech was to say Democrats are uniters while it is Donald Trump and Republicans who are the divisive ones. Let's go down some of the points in Rep. Kennedy's speech.  He started by reflecting on some things that happened in the past year.  "A government that struggles to keep itself open."  Passage of a budget lies with Congress not with the Executive branch of government.  Furthermore, Democrats were equally to blame for the brief shutdown, providing no votes in the Senate initially to overcome the filibuster and pass a short term budget. In 2015, as Donald Trump entered the race for President and began getting attention, the other candidates and the Republican Party officials made a big deal of calling on Donald Trump to sign the pledge to support whoever is the Republican nominee. Now that Donald Trump is ahead in the race, it's a very different story.  Republicans are saying they will never support Donald Trump. Party officials are trying to find ways to deny him the nomination.  Long time Republicans are talking about running a candidate as a 3rd Party nominee. Is that what being a real Republican means?  Lying, backstabbing, going back on your Pledge, and only supporting Republicans you like?  This may not be the Party for me if that is the case.

Further on the debate over whether the Republicans should consider a Supreme Court nominee submitted by President Obama to replace Justice Scalia. Seems that in 2006, then Senator Obama called on his colleagues in the Democrat majority to not consider appointees offered by President Bush.  A full 2 years prior to the end of President Bush's term in office.
