 We own this.  It's our fault.   The last two months have been disappointing and awful, culminating in a tragic disaster this week.  And if you've been a Trump supporter, as I have been, you need to look in a mirror because the blame starts there and runs from each of us individually to all of our fellow Trump supporters whether regular individuals or elected officials, and onward to the people in the Trump Administration, and finally to the President himself. By the end of November it should have been obvious the President and his legal team were incapable of making a legitimate case about what happened on Election Day either in court or in the court of public opinion.  Instead of continuing an obviously futile effort to change the election our focus should have changed. Job 1 should have been winning the Senate seats in Georgia. Job 2 should have been lobbying our State and local governments to change the rules so we never again experience the shenanigans...

At a Coronavirus briefing, an Administration medical professional reviewed the results of studies of what kills the virus and what allows it to grow.  The President then asked some poorly worded questions of the speaker.  These were misinterpreted by the Media and, as usual, it led some typically hateful remarks by celebrities.  Unfortunately, President Trump and his press people missed an opportunity with their response. The presentation showed that Coronavirus does well in the dark and cold and not well in sunlight, due to ultraviolet rays, or humidity.  The research also showed that while the Coronavirus can live on surfaces for a long while, disinfectants can kill the Coronavirus quickly. At the end of the presentation, the President asked the speaker whether we can use the outcome of this study to evaluate the use of ultraviolet light internally within people suffering from the virus - because the virus damages the lungs - and whether there is a way to ...

Stop calling the media liberal.  Those in the media who deny they are liberal, are correct - they are not liberal.  I'd actually respect them more if they were.  But I can tell you what they are. They are Democrats.  They are an extension of the Democrat party.  Not officially but willingly. The media is not liberal, nor can you say they represent any other political ideology.  To link a person to a specific political ideology you need to define the beliefs of that ideology and then demonstrate the person almost uniformly follows that ideology.  The media generally does not meet this test. Some random thoughts This morning I saw, for the first time, the advertisement by former Mayor Michael Bloomberg complaining about violence and division in the Country and calling on all Americans to vote Democratic to bring back peace and bipartisanship. Riddle me this Batman, what in the last two years leads Mayor Bloomberg to think a Democrat majority in either or both Houses of Congress will lead to peace and bipartisanship?  Was it the calls of Rep. Maxine Waters, Sen. Corey Booker, Hillary Clinton, and Eric Holder for people to get abusive toward Republicans?  Was it Nancy Pelosi's statements that if Democrats win the House then anyone who disagrees with them will be at best ignored and just become collateral damage for the next two years? Here are my three predictions of what will happen after Hurricane Michael is done and people are assessing the aftermath. 1. There will be great damage, power outages all over, some loss of life, some people injured. 2. The damage,injuries and deaths will not be as great after Michael as they were in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria hit that island.  Plus power will be restored relatively quickly, certainly people will not be lacking power a year afterwards as is true in Puerto Rico. 3. Really interesting story about the idea that rather than try to get all the guns off the street, why not educate people on how to legally and safely possess weapons for your protection.  I like the catchy name too - "Black Guns Matter."  I give the writer credit for being open minded about this and not just making a knee jerk condemnation.  But like the writer, I disagree with the people interviewed when they suggest self-defense includes illegal actions by police.   But the general point is well taken.  Education works.  There is a reason why none of the instances described in the article where little kids shot someone or were themselves shot happened in rural states like Wyoming or Montana where guns far outnumber people and kids of any age can hunt as long as they are accompanied by an adult.  Out here weapons are tools and people are taught from the earliest age how to handle and respect their tools.   Ubiñas: Philly man...
