Opponents hate Trump more than they care about Venezuela's people

In New York City, protesters lined up outside the Courthouse calling for the release of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, and his wife, and their return to Venezuela.  The outcry over the US arresting Nicolas Maduro in his Palace in Caracas demonstrates that these protesters don't understand (or perhaps don't care) what has really been occurring in Venezuela under Maduro, have been fed false information, and hate Trump so much that even if they had the facts they still wouldn't care about the people of Venezuela and would be calling for Maduro to be released. Being upset with how the Trump Administration sent troops and law enforcement personnel to Venezuela to bring Nicolas Maduro and his wife to the US for trial is understandable.  There are points both sides on this issue are debating and Congress will have its say on the subject as well.  However, calling for the release of Nicolas Maduro and his return to Venezuela would be the ultimate crime perpetrated on...

Elon Musk - Unelected? So what!

Opponents are deriding Elon Musk as an unelected bureaucrat - for example Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts said "no one elected Elon Musk."  Senator Schumer, Minority Leader and senior Senator from NY, was quoted saying "Its like letting a tiger into the petting zoo..." and "...the US was witnessing a hostile takeover of the federal government..."*1  Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called it a "plutocratic coup."*2  Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn) said "this is what the beginning of dictatorship looks like." *3   A University of North Carolina law professor, Michael J. Gerhardt, closed his comments by saying "There is no mechanism for keeping Elon Musk in check." *4  Many, if not all of these comments come after, and are complaining about, the shutdown of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).  The first two comments, the one by Senator Warren and the first quote from Senator Schumer are corr...

Hypocrisy from the Democrats

Senator McConnell says a Supreme Court nominee by President Obama won't be considered in the Senate.  Republican Presidential Candidates sing out in agreement.  Democrats and liberals whine loudly about this.  In response to that whining, a friend of mine sent me this link: http://www.politico.com/story/2007/07/schumer-to-fight-new-bush-high-court-picks-005146 In July 2007 - more than 18 months before President George W. Bush was to leave office, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called on his colleagues in the newly elected Democrat Majority to refuse to approve any Supreme Court nominees offered by President Bush.  Note the timing - not an election year, 18 months before the President was to leave office. Note the hypocrisy. Now, let me put a different twist on this, since I claim to be a thoughtful, reasonable Conservative. 1. How many Republicans were in the Senate in 2007 when Sen. Schumer said this? 2. How many of those Senators disagreed with...
