The real conversation that needs to happen about transgenders in the bathroom

A person enters either a men's or ladies room, enters a stall and uses it for the purpose that God and the plumbers intended.  Who cares what sexual organ is in their pants or under their skirt?  Not me.

I am not necessarily in favor of bills saying you have to use the bathroom that matches your biology, but I do share what I believe are the fundamental concerns that are driving them.  That concern has nothing to do with which bathroom transgender people use.  The concern is which bathroom scumbags use.

Example from the Chicago Tribune: a man went into the same bathroom as an 8 year old girl and choked her until she was unconscious.  The only reason the girl was not killed is her mom went in to find out where her daughter was and interrupted the guy's actions.  Otherwise, the headline would be man kills 8 year old girl in the bathroom.  This really happened and it happened just this week.

I have not heard any proponents of transgendered people using whatever bathroom they wish address this issue.  Are you okay with an adult male choking an 8 year old girl in the rest room?  I doubt it.

If you're not okay with it, then why are you upset with people trying to find a way to prevent this from happening?

Put another way, if you don't like the solution proposed, what's your solution?  What alternative solution do you propose to prevent other 8 year old girls from being choked by adult males in the rest room?

Instead of being negative and claiming that people offering these bills hate you, why don't you do something positive and engage in a dialogue about addressing a very real concern to prevent human tragedy.  Or maybe you don't care about 8 year old girls being choked to death.

And that's not the only issue to be concerned about.  Not long ago, it was popular for men with cameras under stairways to take photos up women's skirts and then publish those on the internet as a way to make money.  Does anyone think that scumbags like that won't say "I identify as a female" go into a ladies room and take compromising photos or do some other creepy, bizarre thing to post it on the internet for money?

I'm sure there are a myriad of other things that can occur beyond just those two.

That man who choked the 8 year old girl was not transgender.  The story does not indicate that he claimed to identify as female.  The people who might go into a ladies room and take photos or recordings are not transgender.  Even if they claim to be, I would not believe them.  I'm not concerned about transgender people.  The people I'm concerned about are scumbags who might take advantage of a loophole.

What is going to be done to prevent that from happening?  That's the conversation that needs to happen.  The problem is the media plays up opposition to the legislation that is focused solely on the issue of fairness to transgenders and there is no discussion of how to prevent possible abuses like the ones I list above.

To people who support transgenders - stop thinking everything is about you or them and start asking is there a legitimate issue here and, if so, how do I offer an alternative solution to address it.

To people who are proponents of those bills, y'all suck at making your case.  You really need to do a better job of bringing the real concern to the forefront.

The Biden Administration blew it on Covid

It's about a year now since Joe Biden was sworn in as President and we can see the Biden Administration has handled the Coronavirus situation horribly.  The Administration had a fantastic opportunity to declare victory early in 2021 and put this behind us.  But they chose not to do that.  The Biden Administration dropped the ball on pursuing the things America needs to put Covid in the rear view mirror while offering a message of fear and dictatorial mandates, and wedding themselves to a bureaucrat who declared that he is the science.  The result was more Covid 19 deaths in 2021 than in 2020, strong disagreement and a loss of public confidence in the measures promoted by the Biden Administration, none of which is good for America. But it didn't have to be this way.  The Biden Administration took office with three different vaccines available to issue to the public and almost 1 million people getting the jab every day.  Shortly after taking office, Congress passed a Covid relie

Republicans shouldn't get cocky

Is there anyone who doesn't think the Republicans will retake control of both the U.S. House and Senate this year?  Probably not - and that's the problem.    All the polls we see are generic.  They are asking questions about how people feel about the parties.  The pollsters are asking would a generic Republican defeat a generic Democrat.  Other polls are gauging people's feelings toward President Biden.  Every indication is the Republicans will win big in both Houses of Congress.  What could go wrong? Elections are not generic.  Incumbents are not easy to unseat.  Furthermore, elections involve Candidate A running against Candidate B in specific districts on specific issues.  Candidates and parties also need money to run campaigns. Republicans can be facing an uphill fight on some or all of these points. Take incumbency - in Georgia a recent poll showed Herschel Walker running only a couple of points ahead of Democrat incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock.  These poll results a

Inflation stays until Biden and the Democrats go

We won't put inflation behind us as long as Joe Biden is President and Democrats control one or both Houses of Congress.  There was going to be some level of inflation after the shutdowns of 2020, but the policies adopted by the Biden Administration and the spending bills passed by the Democrat Congress have elevated inflation to levels they have not been at in many years.  As long as Joe Biden is in the White House or Democrats control one House of Congress they will be able to prevent undoing the policies that have put us where we are. Starting on day one, the Biden Administration began adopting policies that fueled the growth of inflation.  Despite it being obvious for months that inflation was running hotter than expected the Biden Administration was in denial, saying inflation was transitory.   Supply chain issues were initially caused by other factors but the Biden Administration has talked about addressing this but none of their policies have been successful.   On the other
