A test for Joe Biden

The test for President Biden: What is he going to do about it?

During the Trump Administration, a similar event occurred.  GM started scaling back it's operations at the Lordstown Ohio plant and progressively reduced production there until it was ready to close the facility. President Trump condemned the automaker and threatened them with tariffs if they moved production to another country.

The outcome was the re-opening of the Lordsville Plant under a new company that will manufacture electric pickup trucks.  This was done with assistance from the Trump Administration, as credited by individuals saying in Trump advertisements that the plant would have been closed for good without Trump's help.

Now Ford announced it is moving production of a next generation model from its plant in Avon Lake, Ohio.  They are leaving behind production of pickup trucks, but that's current generation and when that model goes out of fashion the plant becomes at greater risk of being closed.

So the test for President Biden is, what are you going to do to protect the jobs of American union workers?  Will Joe Biden stand up for American jobs like Donald Trump did?

If Biden's track record to date - rescinding Trump's limits on foreign workers coming to the US and re-opening the borders with a return to "catch and release" allowing individuals who will take jobs under the table and at lower wages - doesn't suggest a positive outcome for the union workers in Ohio.

But let's see what President Biden does.

This week President Biden gave a speech reviewing his legacy in the White House.  Biden talked about the good he's done.  I have a different perspective, I see the deaths and damage that occurred in the last four years. H-1B Visas are a good idea in theory.  People around the world want to come to the United States to work and live.  Why not invite the best and brightest.  Bring top talent to the US to help our businesses, industry and military remain the top in the world. Then there is that pesky thing called reality.  I've worked for small companies with less than 250 employees and companies with hundreds of thousands of employees, and companies in between.  I've seen the reality I'm describing. The Biden Administration blew it on Covid

 It's about a year now since Joe Biden was sworn in as President and we can see the Biden Administration has handled the Coronavirus situation horribly.  The Administration had a fantastic opportunity to declare victory early in 2021 and put this behind us.  But they chose not to do that.  The Biden Administration dropped the ball on pursuing the things America needs to put Covid in the rear view mirror while offering a message of fear and dictatorial mandates, and wedding themselves to a bureaucrat who declared that he is the science.  The result was more Covid 19 deaths in 2021 than in 2020, strong disagreement and a loss of public confidence in the measures promoted by the Biden Administration, none of which is good for America.
