Data centers are wrongly getting a bad rap based on out of date information. United States Senators, like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders want them put on hold.  The State of New York is moving a bill to put a one year moratorium on building data centers.  If word goes out that one is coming to your community, the "Not In My BackYard" types immediately start objecting.  Opponents don't care that data centers provide good jobs and tax revenue for communities.  Nor do they care that data centers are important technological centers supporting the next big thing, Artificial Intelligence (AI).  Worst of all, the fears expressed by opponents are out of date and don't apply. Data centers are specialized facilities designed to house large scale IT infrastructure - primarily servers, storage systems, and networking equipment.  These devices generate a lot of heat and require cooling to keep them from overheating and the machinery being damaged as a result. ...

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani's latest idea for the New York housing market will be bad for New York, particularly the needier people within New York.  His housing proposal will make the existing market worse and if the City succeeds in taking over existing housing, as the Mayor proposes, these will turned over to an agency with a horrible track record. But let's take a step back and acknowledge the positives of the Mamdani's plan.  The Mayor proposes changes to land use and zoning rules, as well as building codes to "lower construction costs and reduce delays in housing development."  The plan includes goals to build 200,000 new affordable homes and preserve another 200,000 existing affordable units.  To fund this, the City will invest $22 billion in housing funding over the next five years.*1 Mamdani also proposes to improve enforcement of building codes on existing buildings, to help current residents.  Another positive aspect to his proposal but with uninten...

 The word projection has multiple definitions.  Google says one of the definitions is "...the presentation or promotion of someone or something in a particular way."  Kids have a better way of saying it when they tease each other with - "I know you are but what am I?" The Democrats are the Kings and Queens of political projection.  The best example of how the Democrat Party uses projection to deflect attention away from themselves is the latest charge that President Trump and MAGA supporters are authoritarians - a charge that is breathtaking for its audacity.  What makes it particularly scary is how the vast majority of the media parrots what the Democrats say verbatim. Faced with growing public dissatisfaction with the high cost of energy in the United Kingdom (UK), a country with some of the highest costs in the world, Prime Minister Keir Starmer is the latest to lie about why energy costs are so high.  Starmer's comment "I'm fed up with the fact that families across the country see their bills go up and down on energy... because of the actions of Putin or Trump across the world." Horse manure. Let's provide some clarity about issues that have been raised regarding the War in Iran.   1. The President's action is not illegal or unconstitutional. That's the opinion of Senator John Fetterman (D-PA), who said the War Powers Act "...has not been violated..."*1   The text of the War Powers Resolution, passed in 1975 requires: The President notify Congress before initiating action. The President provide briefings to Congress within 48 hours of action being initiated. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said those things were done. Someone really needs to ask the media this question.  What do the anti-ICE protesters stand for?  The media covers these protesters and gives airtime to their complaints but no one defines what are the goals or underlying principles these individuals believe.   Let's look at some of the people ICE has arrested.   Hernan Cortes-Valencia is an illegal alien arrested by ICE.  He was convicted of sexual assault against a child, sexual assault-carnal abuse, and four DUIs.  Mr. Cortes-Valencia was ordered removed on December 1, 2016, so he had his due process. Sriudorn Phaivan was convicted of strongarm sodomy of a boy and a girl, nine counts of larceny, four counts of fraud, vehicle theft, two counts of drug possession, possession and receiving of stolen property, burglary and check forgery, and that's just a summary.  He has a final removal order from March 8, 2018.  Previously we talked about how Democrats drive up costs, but what do they do to make things affordable?  Simple, they give away your tax dollars. Obamacare is a classic example.  Democrats rammed through a boondoggle of a program that has lived up to none of its promises, a key one of which was to reduce the cost of health insurance.  As insurance costs rose and rose, Democrats during the Biden Administration passed a law "temporarily" removing any cap on income levels for subsidies.  This meant that people making as much as $600,000 or more could get federal tax dollars to help pay for their Health Insurance purchased through the marketplace.* The temporary law ended this past December.  Democrats are seeking to extend the removal of the cap on subsidies for 10 more years at a cost to taxpayers of billions of dollars over that time.   That doesn't make health insurance more affordable, it just covers up the rising costs with taxpayer dollars....

In New York City, protesters lined up outside the Courthouse calling for the release of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, and his wife, and their return to Venezuela.  The outcry over the US arresting Nicolas Maduro in his Palace in Caracas demonstrates that these protesters don't understand (or perhaps don't care) what has really been occurring in Venezuela under Maduro, have been fed false information, and hate Trump so much that even if they had the facts they still wouldn't care about the people of Venezuela and would be calling for Maduro to be released. Being upset with how the Trump Administration sent troops and law enforcement personnel to Venezuela to bring Nicolas Maduro and his wife to the US for trial is understandable.  There are points both sides on this issue are debating and Congress will have its say on the subject as well.  However, calling for the release of Nicolas Maduro and his return to Venezuela would be the ultimate crime perpetrated on...

Democrats are the masters of "projection."  In the language of politics, projection means you take your own characteristic and "project" it onto your opponent.  Remember the kid's game of saying "I know you are, but what am I? when someone criticizes them.  There are so many examples of Democrats doing this but today we'll talk about Democrats and affordability. What are Democrats to do to win back the House and possibly the Senate in 2026?  Simple, apply the tactic of "projection" and blame Republicans and Trump for higher prices and claim they, the Democrats, are the party of "affordability."  In the previous post, I talked about how I think the Republicans are in trouble going into the 2026 elections.  Now let's talk about what I think they should do about it. Start by recognizing there is a problem.  I've heard Republican officials and some pundits say "well these were Blue states so its not surprising Democrats won."  I'm sorry - a Democrat AG candidate won after it was revealed he wished death on a legislator and the legislator's two kids.  I don't care what color is assigned to the State of Virginia - Republican Red or Democrat Blue - that shouldn't happen unless Republicans have a problem. The Republicans are in big trouble in 2026.   The Election night just passed is a harbinger of the problems Republicans face.  Republicans got spanked royally.  The epitome of that was a Democrat candidate Attorney General who threatened death to not just a state legislator but also that legislators children won election against a Republican incumbent in Virginia.  It used to be a joke.  "Well I got that [name any very challenging task] completed and for my next magic trick I'll go bring peace to the Middle East." Finally, onto the scene came a magician who could make it happen - President Donald J. Trump. But let's admit it, we're not all the way there.  The last of the living hostages are back, the Israeli Defense Force has pulled back and humanitarian aid is moving in unrestricted.  But, that's just the "first Phase."   The next part is fleshing out the remaining points of Trump's 20 point peace plan.  If that is implemented even 80% there will be dramatic improvements in the lives of the Palestinian people living in Gaza, which will make future conflicts extremely unlikely.  The title paraphrases the question - "ICE Unmask, what are you afraid of" - asked recently by California Governor Gavin Newsom at a press conference announcing he signed state legislation requiring ICE agents and other Federal Law Enforcement officers to not wear masks when conducting immigration enforcement actions.  Let's answer the question for the Governor. Last week an ICE agent was followed home by three women who then live streamed on Instagram as they identified the agent and his wife and their home and the address of their home.  In addition to livestreaming and harassing the agent and his wife, the women were shouting to the neighborhood that an ICE agent lives here, presumably inviting others in the neighborhood to also harass the couple. Charlie Kirk believed in free speech and debate.  His process was peaceful.  Charlie Kirk went to colleges and other locations to listen to the views of others and offer his responses.   He would answer any question and talk to anyone.  Charlie Kirk was murdered because he offered ideas others did not want anyone to hear.  Progressives have tried for years to stop him going to College campuses.  Local branches of Mr. Kirk's Turning Point USA have had their tables and materials attacked and vandalized.   And now Charlie Kirk is assassinated - the culmination of all the efforts by progressives to deny him free speech, to prevent others from hearing what he has to say. From the moment President Trump announced "Liberation Day" and laid out a list of tariffs he planned to impose, we've heard from economists, politicians, the media and the Federal Reserve about the impact of the tariffs on consumers.  Clothing, food, technology, cars, and toys are some of the categories of products tariffs will effect.  But there is a key point they overlook in their complaints about tariffs. From the media, we see headlines like these: CNN - "'Sneakflation': How Trump's tariffs are gradually raising costs for American consumers." Forbes - "Tariffs may have a bigger impact on consumers than some experts think." The Hill - "The misery of auto tariffs is hitting families and factories." Then there was the Federal Reserve which held off changes in the interest rate citing the "uncertainty" caused by tariffs as their reason for doing so.  Zohran Mamdani, NY State Assemblyman and candidate for NYC Mayor, has suggested the idea of City run supermarkets.  Specifically, Mr. Mamdani proposes five supermarkets, one in each NY City Borough and all run by the City of New York.  The idea would be to provide low-cost food to underserved New Yorkers. It sounds like a good idea.  I think Mr. Mamdani should do it but in a slightly different way.  I suggest Mr. Mamdani create a non-profit organization.  Mr. Mamdani can then create a business plan describing how the supermarkets would work.  To show his support for the idea, Mr. Mamdani should put his money where his mouth is - pony some of his own cash and money from his family. With seed money, a business plan and the offer of tax-deductions, Mr. Mamdani can then start tapping his friends - including the ones who attended his wedding in Uganda, they are not paupers.  Mr. Mamdani can also reach out to supporters, like the billionaire hedge fund...

The headline from Democracy Now! calls it "Whitewashing of History."  The network formerly known as MSNBC had a headline saying President Trump is rewriting history.  CNN's headline says "Trump's 'chilling effect' is coming for museums..."  The Independent claims Trump is purging Smithsonian Exhibits, the sub-headline claims "White House said it would begin reviewing Smithsonian exhibitions to ensure they align with Trump's agenda." The reason for the reaction from the press is that Trump issued an Executive Order, on March 27, calling for essentially a review of the Smithsonian Institution.  The Executive Order said "Museums in our Nation's capital should be places where individuals go to learn - not be subjected to ideological indoctrination or divisive narratives that distort our shared history."
