Kudos to President Obama
President Obama went to accept the Nobel Peace Prize and at the podium before the Peace Prize Committee and a room "packed with European dignitaries" President Obama said:
“Whatever mistakes we have made, the plain fact is this: the United States of America has helped underwrite global security for more than six decades with the blood of our citizens and the strength of our arms,” Obama said. “The service and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform has promoted peace and prosperity from Germany to Korea, and enabled democracy to take hold in places like the Balkans.”
I disagree with Obama on a lot of things, but our President got up in front of the world and said something that needed to be said. My hat is off to President Obama.
If you need proof that it was the right thing to say, Gary Trudeau, the author of the Doonesbury cartoons, drew a strip condemning President Obama for his speech.
